Middle East Coatings Show 2015 Cairo
We are pleased to announce that the MECS15 Cairo will be held from 7 – 8 October 2015 at the Cairo International Convention & Exhibition Centre for the 9th time.
Ever since the birth of MECS Cairo in 1997, it has always been one of the favourite places for the coatings industry to meet and trade in the Middle East region, even amidst its peak of the political turmoil, the show has successfully fulfilled its role as the only trading platform for the coatings industry that connects this biggest Middle East Country (by population, 87M) with the world.
The receding dark clouds of the political uncertainty have failed to shadow peoples’ strong will to move on. In 2013, the MECS13 Cairo registered a record attendance which again proved that the strong economic fundamentals and the prevailing positive sentiments have never changed.
“I was expecting a much quieter show due to the political situation here but have been pleasantly surprised”. Osama Waha, Univar Egypt, spoke on behalf of his colleagues from Dow Corning.
“It is much, much better than I expected and time will tell. We are interested to see who comes and visits our stand, as there are people here from Saudi Arabia, India, as well as Egypt, who will visit us during the show” Hans Peter Hansen, Sales & Export Manager, Diaf Pilvad commented.
“An ideal platform to meet with customers in the Middle East. As we are known for polymers to the coatings industry in the Middle East, we are happy to support MECS Cairo” Synthomer’s David Spensley, Sales Director.
Analysis of the Egyptian Paints and Coatings Market by Frost and Sullivan, finds that the market earned revenues of LE 3.93 Billion in 2013 and estimates this to reach LE 4.90 Billion in 2018 at a compound annual growth rate of 4.5 per cent. The study covers decorative paints as well as automotive, marine, wood and industrial protective coatings.
“Over the next few years, the Government-subsidised LE 120 Billion project – which aims at constructing one million residential units in 14 cities and other governorates across Egypt – will drive the uptake of paints and coatings in the country,” said the Frost & Sullivan Chemicals & Materials Research Analyst.
This is why we are confident and excited that MECS15 Cairo will be a fantastic opportunity for companies who are farsighted to resume and develop the biggest market in the Middle East and this is why we would like to invite you to join us.
The event gives a unique platform for suppliers to present their products and services and be face-to-face with the most influential decision makers operating within the market in a relaxed, intimate environment.
